I’m in Miami for SCBWI Florida’s regional conference; on Saturday I reprised my Beauty and the Beast talk from last year, taught a workshop on Subplot, and gave manuscript critiques. It was virtually non-stop for almost five hours, and challenging in the best ways, and on the whole everything went pretty well.
Julia was supposed to be here with me, but she just switched from nights to days at her hospital job. She couldn’t get the time off. Thus: the extra two days I’d extended my stay are turning out to be a mini writing retreat – and I could use the time! Manuscript deadline is next Monday.
